Introduction?
#1
Question
So, I've been reading through alot of these posts and it seems alot of you know one another.

I can't believe I waited this long to finally join a forum for Ours fans. 0.o'
I blame it on spending way too much time gaming and pestering friends on aim. >.>

Anywho... I'd like to try to get to know some of you.
I mainly joined because I got tired of trying to talk about Ours to most of my friends and having them give me these 'wtf are you so sodding excited about?' looks; the lot of them are not into this type of music.
Shame on them. However I have gotten most of them to go out and buy their cd's. =D Still no luck to make most of them a die hard fan like me. haha

So, Hi... I'm Kristin. And I'd love to talk to you guys on here or on aim:
ichxbinxnichts

And since this is general chat... What are some of your other favored bands/solo artists?
Lately I've been getting really into some people I haven't listened to in a few years.
Fiona Apple- When The Pawn
I'm in love with that album 0.o
Sneaker Pimps, and Cake as well.
Also been listening to more than a fair share of Tom Waits, he's really interesting, his style can't be pin pointed under any specific genre - I love it - and he's a really neat actor as well.

That's my introduction. O.O'

When The Pawn... is my favorite Fiona CD

I'm Hayley I'm from Long Island New York but I attend school in Binghamton. I've been on these forums (in all their incarnations) for a few years now.

My other favorites include Muse, Dredg, Placebo, Alanis Morissette, The Dresden Dolls and Weezer... I'm mostly into alternative rock... especially from the mid 1990s.

I first of Ours when Distorted Lullabies was released, saw the video for Sometimes and saw them on a local NY show called "the Daily Beat". I didn't start to get insanely into them until after Precious was released, but thet are incredible, as we all know Smile

Hey, I'm Michael. I'm almost 25. I grew up in Chicago, but I've lived in St. Louis now for the past few years.

I got into Ours through a friend in 2004. She told me that I "HAD TO check out this singer." So I downloaded a few songs, and really liked them. And it just so happened that Jimmy was playing at Schuba's in Chicago a few weeks later, so I decided to go. After seeing him live, I was hooked. I've seen him 5 or 6 times since.

Other favorite bands are:

The Decemberists
Days of the New
Eagles of Death Metal
Deadboy & the Elephantmen
Devendra Banhart
Neutral Milk Hotel
New Pornographers
McLusky
Ted Leo & the Pharmacists
Iron & Wine
The M's

Sorry for the long list.

I'm me Wink

I was introduced to Ours by a friend a few yrs ago and been hooked on them ever since. I'm unfortunately a UK based fan Sad meaning no live shows here.

I currently like the following a lot: sushi, watching retroy cartoons from my childhood, going to gigs/festivals, cats, blogging pointless and random ramblings, good friends

I currently dislike the following a lot: cigarette smoke, really tall people standing in front of me at gigs, spiders, relationship issues, the city I've been studying in, sods law
