I was going to wait and post this tomorrow, but I don't always get a chance to get here in the morning, so I figured I'd put it up tonight.
One year ago tomorrow, The Heart was released. It's an incredibly emotionally and beautiful album. Jimmy seriously puts his heart on his sleeve for all of us and it comes through on the album and when he plays these songs live.
Getting to be at the release party last summer in NYC was probably one of the coolest experiences of my life. I will never again be THAT cool - there was so much love and it was the perfect way to celebrate.
Getting to hear the album straight through, completely acoustic, on my birthday (well, the night before) was the most amazing thing and a great way to turn 30. To hear the album the way that Jimmy always intended....there aren't enough words to adequately describe it.
Jimmy's said he's rereleasing the album later this year with the band on some songs - I for one, can't wait to hear the way they sound.
Congratulations Jimmy, and Happy Anniversary on an incredible album.
