I’m not sure if it was because it was a Wed night, but I found a parking spot on the street in the village 2 blocks from the club. That’s when I knew it would be a good night. Great weather too.

Nick DiPaolo introduced the opener, Madison Strays, as Strays Madison. I had a chance to talk to him as soon as he walked off stage after introducing them and he said something like this, “I just introduced them as Strays Madison...and I think all 90 lbs of them want to kick my ass.” Not sure how funny that is in print, but when he said it…very funny.

The guys had just returned from the road and were in good spirits. Once again, like just about every Ours show I’ve been to, the room was comfortably full. All in all it was a good set, albeit abbreviated (about an hour and 20 minutes/no encore).

This audio audience recording was recorded from right in front of the first set of lounge chairs. This is the complete show (my apologies for the fumbling of the mic during the intro jam to Tower). KTB should have this uploaded sometime today.

When I returned home, I learned that while as we were enjoying a set from one of the greatest bands around, just a few blocks away, 2 NYC Auxiliary Police Officers were killed by some wacko pizza hating gunman. What a crazy world we live in. Just sad. Thank God for this music.
